Franke Sissons gift £50,000 project to local HospicePosted on 8th June 2010 at 12:00.
The scheme has involved the complete refurbishment of three separate rooms within the hospice, which operates as an independent registered charity providing free care to adults with life threatening illnesses. The charity currently has a £2.3million appeal for support in place.
The project involved the removal of all existing furniture and appliances in the main kitchen, the area drinks kitchen and the washing up kitchen. Since the hospice remained operational throughout the period, the work had to be carried out in stages, with new stainless steel equipment and furniture manufactured by Franke Sissons, ready to install the moment the room had been cleared, re-plastered and painted. Franke Sissons are themselves manufacturers of bespoke and standard catering equipment in stainless steel, so were able to supply the highest quality product to this scheme.
“This has been one of the largest single donations received from a private company since the Hospice opened, and sets us up for delivering the highest catering standards well into the future. What is clear is that without this intervention, we would not have had the resources to do the work, at any known future date. It has made a step change in our catering provision.” said David Oldale, Chairman of Ashgate Hospice Board.
